LIEEP Continues to Offer Students
Valuable Career Insight
On Thursday June 2, our Stratford SRG office hosted another LIEEP (Light Industrial Employment Education Program) session. This session was in partnership with Waterloo Catholic District School Board and FIO Automotive Canada Corporation in Stratford.
There were 17 students from Grades 11 and 12 that were in participation. The students started their morning with an introduction to SRG and then they were split into groups that rotated to partake in 3 different stations.
One station was the SRG Skills Centre, a virtual centre for automotive assembly; the second station was for food processing and the third station was for job search strategies.
The afternoon session allowed the students to visit FIO for a plant tour and to learn more about career opportunities within the Manufacturing Industry. This was a successful day and it was very well received by the students in attendance.
Special thanks to Tara Fitzgerald and Judy Carley from the Waterloo Catholic District School Board as well as Debbie Cuthbert (HR Manager) and the team at FIO for their support and assistance of LIEEP. Together, we have opened the door for potential future career opportunities for these students.
